Amrita School of Pharmacy celebrated its first Alumni meet in a ceremony organized at the School of Pharmacy Auditorium at Kochi Campus on 23rd May 2010. The meet was attended by B-Pharm 2009 batch passouts and B-Pharm 2010 batch who are about to graduate.
The meet was an emotional trip down the memory lane for the former students of the School of Pharmacy when they gathered here for their first Alumni meet aptly named ‘Pharmamritam.’
Many of them were visiting the campus for the first time since their graduation and were thrilled to meet their professors and pals.
Dr. G.P. Mohanta, Professor, Annamalai University was the chief guest of the function.
“The feedback of Alumni is of great importance to improve the teaching-learning process,” stated Dr. Mohanta. “We need to develop a positive attitude to excel in our respective fields,” he emphasized.
In his inspiring talk, Dr. K.G. Revikumar, Principal of Amrita School of Pharmacy, remarked that the Alumni are the brand ambassadors of the institution and an effervescent relationship ought to be established amongst them. “Students should be proud of their institution and mentors,” he added.
Ms. Sabitha M, Vice Principal, appreciated the gathering for their determination to attend the alumni meet. She advised them to develop an optimistic mind to positive ideas and suggestions.
Mr. Shibu of the 2009 batch officially welcomed the 2010 batch into the Alumni Network by passing on the lamp to Mr. Dhananjay of 2006 batch.
The general body meeting and discussions on by-laws and future plans of the Alumni Association were held in the post lunch session. At the end of the meet, everyone departed with the resolution to visit again.
